About the Author

Dr. Sophia Awadia is the founder and lead optometrist of Yonge Eyes Optometry and Vision Therapy in Toronto, ON. She was born and raised on the East Coast of Canada. She holds a master’s degree in vision science and a doctorate in optometry from the University of Waterloo. Dr. Awadia is an associate of the Optometric Extension Program Foundation and a member of the Neuro-Optometric Rehabilitation Association and the College of Optometrists in Vision Development. She is a published author on myopia research and has given numerous talks and presentations to schools, local groups, and other health professionals. Dr. Awadia enjoys running, snowboarding, and exploring Toronto with her two children.
